The Larimer County Community Development Department is considering amendments to the County Land Use Code pertaining to Accessory Living Areas (a.k.a. Accessory Dwelling Units). The amendments being considered will only apply to properties located in the Estes Valley Planning Area, not properties in the Town of Estes. 

The code amendments could included changes to:

• Maximum square footage allowed for Accessory Living Areas (ALAs)
• Allowing detached ALAs
• Allowing ALAs to be rented long-term (longer than 30 days)
