Formed in 1999 and patterned after our nation's finest ceremonial units, members of the Larimer County Sheriff's Honor Guard serve as ambassadors for the Sheriff's Office. The Honor Guard pays tribute to and provides funeral honors for fallen officers and performs as a color guard for agency ceremonies and other official functions.
The team is comprised of ten sworn deputies, representing four of the five divisions within the Sheriff's Office. Appointments to the team are based upon experience, integrity, appearance and bearing. Each member must first be recommended and approved by their supervisors, with final selection and unit appointment by the Sheriff.
