NAME CHANGE AND/OR MARITAL STATUS CHANGE
When an employee has a name change, they MUST first change their name with the Social Security Administration so that their earnings continue to be accurately reported. To avoid a rejected direct deposit, employees must also update their name at any banks associated with their direct deposit accounts in UKG. Most banks also require an updated form of identification in order to update the account name.
Once the change has been made with the SSA and the employee’s bank(s), employees can enter their name change information directly into UKG to initiate the name change process with Information Technology and Human Resources.
- Go to the "Myself" menu tab, under "Personal," click "Name, Address, and Telephone."
- Click on the "edit" icon.
- Complete the "Last" and "Former last" name fields, and change "Marital status" if desired.
- Remember to click the "save" icon when finished.
The action will go into a workflow to await approval. Human Resources will coordinate a time to validate the name change with the employee. Once this validation is complete, Human Resources and IT will then work together to process the name change:

- A JIRA ticket is opened and IT builds a new email address and login
- IT coordinates a time with the employee to implement the name change. During this time, the employee will need to be completely off of their computer for 30 minutes to an hour.
- Once HR receives the new email address, they rebuild the username and roles, and update the Nectar database.
Once these steps are complete, IT assists the employee in re-registering for UKG with the new email address and in creating a new password and security Q&A.

ADDRESS, PHONE, AND/OR EMAIL CHANGE
Employees can enter their own address, phone number, and alternate email changes directly into UKG.
- Go to the "Myself" menu tab, under "Personal," click "Name, Address, and Telephone."
- Click on the "edit" icon.
- Update the address fields as necessary.
- DO NOT change the Primary e-mail field as this is linked to your system sign-on.
- You may update the Alternate e-mail field if desired.
- Update your Primary Personal Phone if necessary.
- Remember to click the "save" icon when finished.
