As outlined in Section XIV of the Conditions of Employment Policy, remote work is intended to occur within the State of Colorado. Remote work arrangements outside Colorado will only be considered under exceptional circumstances where a critical business need is demonstrated. Any such request must be reviewed and approved in writing by the Human Resources Director prior to the employee beginning any out-of-state work.
When an employee works internationally or out-of-state, it is difficult to comply with international or state specific employment laws and payroll requirements. Larimer County does not have the capacity to have international or out-of-state employment compliance.
