Nominations for 2026 Older Americans Month Awards now open!

Nominations for this year's Older American Month Awards are now open! The Larimer County Office on Aging honors an Outstanding Senior Volunteer and an Outstanding Family Caregiver at a ceremony each May. The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, March 20. 

Commissioner John Kefalas, awardees LoAnne Forschmiedt and Winnie Hanson, nominees Bojanka Crivilescu and Ginger Haney, nominator Steve Conaway, and Commissioner Kristin Stephens.

Each May, the Larimer County Office on Aging honors two community members during our Older Americans Month Awards. The awards, honoring one Outstanding Senior Volunteer and one Outstanding Family Caregiver, are presented by the Larimer County Commissioners. Award winners are selected by the Office on Aging Advisory Council from nominations made by community members like you!

The deadline for 2026 nominations is Friday, March 20. The Larimer County Office on Aging will honor all nominees and award winners, along with their nominators, during the Older Americans Month Award Ceremony on Thursday, May 14, at 1 p.m. at the Larimer County Administration Building in Loveland (200 Peridot Ave.).

Outstanding Senior Volunteer Award

Criteria

This award honors outstanding volunteers whose service has enhanced the lives of older adults in Larimer County. Nominees must be at least 60 years of age, reside in Larimer County, and volunteer their time in the community with one or more organizations.

Outstanding Family Caregiver Award

Criteria

This award honors outstanding caregivers who provide ongoing care for someone 60 years of age or older in Larimer County. The caregiver must be unpaid and both the caregiver and care recipient must reside in Larimer County.
