Every family needs help sometimes- let us support you!

Welcome to Supported Families, Stronger Community!

We are a federally funded grant project aimed to support families when they need it and how they need it. Our team will help you learn about and apply for resources and services in our community such as reduced child care costs, public benefits, and other emotional and financial support programs. Our team will assist in finding the right resources for you and your family, while lending an ear for emotional support along the way.

In an effort to help any family living in Larimer County, we have four navigators who will guide you through the process. The level of support they provide is custom to each family's needs. Our navigators have lived experience within this community;  they understand what you are going through and are here to help.

Examples of resources we can connect you with:

  • Utility assistance
  • Behavioral health services
  • Medicaid
  • Housing Resources
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

Supported Families, Stronger Community (SFSC) is a 5 -year grant funded by the Administration on Children, Youth and Families and was awarded to the Larimer County Department of Human Services in 2019. The first year was a planning year, and years 2-5 are implementation of the direct work.

The goal of the grant is for families receive the help and support they need, when they need it to care for their children. This means families are connected to the right resources from the beginning. We are utilizing the Protective Factor Survey to help each family share their strengths and areas they would like help. This way the family decides what best meets their needs.

Through a community needs assessment, it was determined the services of community navigators would benefit families and there are pockets in our community that would benefit from the extra support of the three navigators who were hired. The SFSC navigators can provide direct support to families by walking alongside them and navigating our community and the resources available.

We are currently serving families with a child or children under the age of 18 in all of Larimer County!
