Bring your 2-5 year old for a morning filled with nature exploration, stories, and connection with our amazing natural world. This month, we're celebrating the place we all live: Earth! We'll plant sunflower seeds to take home with us and learn about how the earth provides what a plant needs to grow.

A parent or guardian must accompany the child for this program. Registration is required but program is free.

Please call Natural Resources main desk at (970) 619-4564 or 4570 the night before or day of program to cancel or inquire about availability.

Brought to you by Climate Smart, Future Ready - Take a Knowledge Break with us—an engaging, snack-fueled series of quick, informative sessions over your lunch hour! Each month, we'll explore topics like land protection, electric vehicles, energy efficiency, water planning, and more. Come curious, leave inspired!

Meegan Flenniken, Land Conservation and Land Stewardship Division Manager for Larimer County Natural Resources, is the featured speaker of this first session where she will break down how Larimer County conserves land and the climate benefits associated.

Becky Staab, a certified yoga instructor and Mindful Outdoor Guide, will lead you on a Spring guided walk in nature at Lion's Open Space. You will be asked to connect with the gifts of the more than human world by engaging in practices that awaken the senses such as meditation, mindful walking (sauntering), gentle stretching and forest bathing. Becky will invite you to rediscover the joy of nature to strengthen and reclaim the best parts of yourself as a member of the natural world as Spring begins to greet us.
Program Update:  Weather forecasts look poor, but we may have a chance for occasional views of the first half of the eclipse. Northern Colorado Astronomical Society will have a few volunteers available for at least 1 hour (10:30 - 11:30 pm) with the hopes of staying longer if the conditions warrant. (Hopefully to totality starting at 12:26 am). Driving a significant distance to attend this program is not recommended.

This program has been canceled. Please check the event calendar for future programs.

Larimer County is home to varied and beautiful wildlife. Although they may not always be easy to see, we can learn a lot about them by the signs they leave behind. Join us to discover what makes the mammals of Larimer County so marvelous! This will be an introduction to some of the more charismatic species that make their home on Larimer County parks and open spaces. Discover how to recognize scat, sounds, and other signs. Touch real fur pelts.
