Larimer County's Climate Smart Future Ready plan was crafted through collaboration with community partners, many of whom remain committed to driving its implementation forward. Our objective is to confront the escalating risks associated with deteriorating air quality, intensifying weather patterns, and the increasing frequency of natural disasters resulting from our evolving climate. 

Our endeavor encompasses a comprehensive array of mitigation, adaptation, and resilience strategies, as elaborated in the DASHBOARD provided above. Collaborating with 50 entities, Larimer County has formulated action plans and established goals to collectively steer us toward fulfilling our community's needs over the next five years.

  1. Why do we need Climate Smart Future Ready (CSFR)?

    Larimer County established Climate Smart Future Ready to proactively confront the challenges posed by deteriorating air quality, escalating temperatures, prolonged droughts, and natural disasters. Community feedback emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to bolster existing initiatives and address the socioeconomic repercussions of climate change equitably. While climate change exacerbates these hazards, the concerted action outlined in this plan offers avenues to mitigate and adapt to them.   2. Who is part of this CSFR effort?

    Larimer County is fortunate to have a community willing to collaborate. Over 50 entities helped to develop the implementation plan highlighted in the dashboard. During the 2024-2025 year we will have up to 12 action teams comprised of both County staff and community partners that will enact the tactics of this effort. Champions assembling and fostering these action teams consist of the following County staff and community partners, each of which will be found in the dashboard:
